Microsoft Interview Experiences

HackerRank was two medium problems one hashmaps one DP, superday was two 40 min interviews on Zoom one after another. First one went through resume then asked me to code finding duplicates in an array, second was behavioral 'tell me about working with a difficult team member'.

Online assessments took forever verbal numerical then the games then HireVue after and final round two interviews where partner brought up influencing a team and senior manager wanted to know about failure. standard but conversational.

Did a Hirevue first with like 5 questions 30 seconds to prep and 90 seconds to answer, I hate that format so much. Coding assessment after that had a SQL query question and some algorithm stuff never got past that stage.

Two 45 min technical interviews in a row. first one was a tree problem where you needed an optimized solution within the time limit. second was DP on their online text editor which has no autocomplete no syntax highlighting so you're writing code in notepad. that editor alone eats up a lot of time.

Campus placement, Codility OA one medium one hard then went into my ML project and gave me a linked list problem. Final round I inverted a BST in 5 minutes and then we just talked about Microsoft culture.

It was fairly easy interview. A few rounds but nothing insane, few technical questions. Had an amazing time with my interviewers, even spent 20 minutes talking about Basketball.

Codility OA had a graph problem and DP got partial on both.

There were three back-to-back interview rounds, each lasting 45 minutes. In each interview, the first 30 minutes were focused on an easy-to-medium LeetCode-style question. The remaining time was spent on behavioral questions and discussions about my resume and past experiences. There were also scenario-based questions, where the interviewer presented specific situations and asked how I would respond or handle them.

Process took 3 weeks overall, pre screen and 2 follow up interviews. Leetcode hard question killed me in the end I think it was linked list related

Live coding for an hour 3 questions easy then 2 mediums both mediums on tree traversal then turned into a casual chat about hobbies and interests nice interviewer but stressful process due to them not saying anything during the coding part lol
