Mathematics Interview Experiences

Big group meeting where they gave an overview of Jane Street and the internship program and then split us into smaller groups for individual interviews. HR plus the manager had behavioral questions. They also made us do this Thomas International psychometric test, like 20 minutes of pattern matching and personality stuff.

They hit me with a scenario about correlation risk during a stress event. First round was behavioral and resumme focused. Second was with a senior risk person who covered market risk.

Supervisor covered my projects and SQL experience on the phone then managers asked OOP questions and about Java which I know well. And wanted to know about teamwork behavioral stuff, relaxed.

80 arithmetic questions in 8 minutes, practiced TraderMath for a week and got like 65 right which pretty sure ended it

They seemed to want someone further along in exams than I was. Virtual interview with an analyst and a manager. Covered exam progress, basic probability and what I knew about P&C pricing

Froze on a market making problem and got ghosted after. Three phone rounds, probability and Bayesian stuff.

Easiest interview I've done at a bank, pre-recorded video and then a teams call where the manager just chatted with me about my resume for 30 min.

Review resume and basic insurance knowledge, nothing hard. Process was quick
