Business Administration Interview Experiences

Group case was 4 of us in a breakout room with about 30 minutes to solve some government consulting scenario about budget allocation or something. One guy immediately tried to take over and wouldn't let anyone else talk which made it really awkward. Pretty sure the observers noticed but who knows. The one on one interviews before that were normal behavioral stuff.

Know the basics of group benefits products before going in. Teams call was with two people from the group benefits team. Behavioral questions about working with large datasets and a scenario where I had to explain how I'd automate a monthly reporting process. They also asked about my SQL background and comfort with tableau. The insurance context came up a lot.

30 minute Zoom with an HR manager, 3 or 4 behavioral questions. Tell me about yourself, a time you wokred on something you weren't an expert in, how you handle competing priorities. No technical content at all. Took over a month to hear back after the interview.

Group interview with about 5 other candidates split into three rounds. Icebreakers first where they asked what sports we follow and our backgrounds, then a values card activity where everyone picks cards that match their personality and explains why. Third round was a business hypothetical about justifying a new initiative and the whole group had to present together. Felt more like a team assessment than a traditional interview. I'd say actually caring about sports matters since they picked up on who was excited.

Quick call to confirm interest then a 15 min presentation on problem solving approach, pretty unusual. Final was STAR behavioral about difficult decisions and why do u want EY.

Campus event then hirevue then final round with a manager. Manager was asking why EY and about a project where I had to work with conflicting data. Nothing too accounting specific at the co-op level. Process took about three weeks and communication was good throughout.

STAR behavioral, time you took a risk led a team balanced multiple commitments. covered resume projects but no technical questoins was mostly conversational and background check took a while after.

Had a strong experience interviewing with Tokio Marine Canada. This company did the interview process in a unique way, by first hosting a zoom session for all interested applicants to provide an understanding of the surety industry. I highly recommend asking questions during this session if you come across something like this in the future.The interview itself was relatively straightforward with standard behavioural questios and 1-2 technical questions. You should be fine for these questions as long as you have a general understanding of financial statements

First round pre recorded screening then one hiring manager interview in person. manager was very nice but I couldn't answer some of the harder questions about loan applications.

both rounds were case studies which I was not expecting to be so intense for an intern interview. first one was a market entry case where you had to size the opportunity and build a framework with tricky assumptions around market share. second round was a profitability case and the problem statement itself had so many exhibits so by the time you understand what they're asking there's only like 20 min left to present. not having a calculator didn't help either. I know people say Deloitte intern interviews aren't that tough but mine was lol

long process, recruiter screen then written assessment then three interviews for product sense analytical thinking and leadership. market sizing was harder than expected.

Nothing for three weeks then rejection. Started with an HR screen, then interview with a manager asking about finance experience and why real estate.

Less technically demanding than USstuff ive experienced. Quick 15 minute HR screening to start quite casual, just eligibility and background. Then two 30 minute sessions with team members the same week. First was behavioral and they covered why IB more than once in different ways. Second was a mix, accretion dilution briefly and a conceptual merger model walkthrough.

Pymetrics then HireVue then interview round. Got too deep in the analysis, didn't pass the case

Pretty simple two HR screenings (one on the phone one on zoom) then a final round with manager who asked semi technical questions about Power BI and Vlookup

Pretty relaxed imo. Recruiter reached out, screen then a marketing call asking about campaigns and measuring effectiveness.

Recruiter call felt a bit disorganized but the team lead interview was solid. Behavioral questions and resume based stuff. About a week total process from recruiter call to interview with a team lead. Montreal HQ. Three intake windows per year.

Only one interview applied through my school. They wanted to hear about how my past co-op was, what I learned there and how I could apply what I learned to the RBC role interviewers were quite friendly had fun talking with them.

purely behavioral about interpersonal situations. HR screen first then interview with two HR business partners. Situational questions about conflict resolution and supporting an employee through a difficult process. Got to final round and then a rejection with no specific feedback, just a standard we went with another candidate email.

Meh process , long interview. Very boring overview of the role and was ready to leave at the end of call.

Easy, behavioural interview, role was in contract and policy analysis. Good for a first internship.

Two interviews back to back, one behavioural with HR, the other more techincal with a financial analyst. Understand the process of insurnace and how accounting may differ for an insurance company vs. a typical retail store.

The recruitment process was quite seamless beginning with the application process. I then had the opportunity to complete a self-assessment survey, gauging some of my personality traits, and employee behaviours, which acted as an initial screening step. My interview was with two members of who would be my direct team, including my supervisor, and one the Senior Key Account Managers. A mix of behavioural and technical questions were asked during the interview, with some time left for me to ask some of my questions.

Consisted of 3 interviews: 1st with HR, which was standard, 2nd with the manager you would be working under, which consisted of problem solving questions in addition to resume based questions, 3rd with multiple members of sales management team, more problem solving and technical skill based questions, but some still some resume based. Also, questions about knowledge of company history so read up on it in advance and familiarize yourself with key names and dates.

9 behavioural questions on a Hirevue and writing tests then round 2 was only 20 minutes with a manager who went into TFSAs RRSPs and why you'd pick one over the other

Resume screening then phone interview then a take home case they gave me about 48 hours for. The case was about analyzing a company's financials and recommending whether to invest or pass. Then final interview where they grilled me on my case with detailed follow up questions. They kept poking at weak spots in the analysis. Interviewers were tough but fair overall.

One way video then interview with my interviewer, simple standard BA questions straight to the point, brought up a challenge from a previous role and how I'd work with cross functional teams wasn't crazy.

HackerRank first with Python SQL and ML theory. Technical interview, questions about lists vs tuples and projects on your resume. Third round they gave a scenario about using data science to determine insurance pricing for different users and you had to propose a solution on the spot. Intense having to think through all that live.

Asked me basic questions like tell me about yourself, expand on what you did in this class etc. Got the offer a day later

Great interview, with some behavioural and soft skills questions. No technicals.

Show your interest in process efficiency and experience with financial analysis and the interview should be a breeze.

Quick pre recorded interview then one round with hiring manager she was very nice and asked about my past co-op and a project I had listed on my resume sadly got declined a day after interview

It was a very easy process. All behavioural questions, only one round and a virtual interview. The interviewer was very conversational and made it a less stressful environment right away. Heard back fairly quickly

Did the one way video first with like 9 questions and you get 3 tries to re-record each one then had a 30 min teams call with one of the senior devs who just went into my resume and teamwork scenarios.

Pre-recorded video thing first. Then had an interview that was mostly soft skills, some basic accounting questions and about working under pressure. Not super hard but also not much room to stand out.

Two rejections in a row from Canadian investment banking and I think I need to sharpen the fundamentals more lol. Recruiter call then in person at their Montreal office. Technical round covered the usual, three statements, how depreciation flows through, EBITDA adjustments. Final round was behavioral and fit, walked through my work experience and they asked why credit advisory specifically.

Just the pre recorded video, never heard back

Video screen then superday with three consecutive groups. Form rejection after.

Mini case about analyzing sell through rates and flagging underperforming SKUs. Second round was with a senior analyst and manager. Also asked about Excel and presenting to non finance people.

About two weeks from application to offer. Interviewers were friendly and not intimidating at all. Questions about past experience and motivation for insurance brokerage. No industry knowledge assumed.

HR call first then a supply chain case about a manufacturer. Final round was behavioral, conflict resolution and leadership.

Gave a solid answer on the product design but wasn't specific enough about success metrics. hirevue behavioral first, then a product interview to design a Jira feature for distributed teams and prioritize it. Cut before final round.

Two rounds of interviews plus a case study. First interview was behavioural, then received a case study, followed by a second interview that was a mix of behavioural and technical. Know your DCFs!

Good and a well rounded job provided with a lot of support

Role is client facing so they cared about communication way more than modeling. Video interview then background check. Nothing but behavioral, motivation for financial services and handling difficult client situations.
