EY Interview Experiences

Quick call to confirm interest then a 15 min presentation on problem solving approach, pretty unusual. Final was STAR behavioral about difficult decisions and why do u want EY.

Campus event then hirevue then final round with a manager. Manager was asking why EY and about a project where I had to work with conflicting data. Nothing too accounting specific at the co-op level. Process took about three weeks and communication was good throughout.

The partner kept the conversation going even when I was thinking out loud, felt more like a chat than a grilling. Case was on an insurance company modernizing claims processing, heavy on change management and process redesign. Behavioral screen before that was standard.

Panel interview with two managers asking SQL questions. They wanted me to write a query to find duplicate records using GROUP BY and HAVING. Also how I'd explain a data finding to someone non technical. SQL portion seemed to be weighted more heavily.

Transfer pricing team, hireVue 5 questions all behavioral then two zoom interviews first asked why tax over audit and about my hobbies kind of random and second was STAR questions about handling stress.

Know IT audit concepts deep, not just concptually if you're applying here. Hirevue then a technical round on IT controls and cybersecurity risks in financial reporting. Final behavioral with a director. Five weeks total

The HackerRank OA had three parts, coding then SQL then an API task and I thought I did fine on coding but the SQL was rough.

Way more relaxed than expected for a big 4 interview, phone screen then in person at the office with two people and questions about teamwork and why public accounting that was it.

Two person panel caught me off guard.My answer wasn't structured enough, didn't move forward
