No technical engineering questions at all, surprised me. HR on Teams first then a second call with the team lead and a current co-op student working at the site. Behavioral the whole way through, why Teck versus other mining companies, a time you worked on something with safety implications, strengths and weaknesses. Came with relocation support since the role was on site in Highland Valley

I said yes to relocating for a site placement in northern BC but wasn't fully certain and I wonder if that came through. HR screening first, then an interview with two engineers including a team lead from the environmental team. They asked about fieldwork comfort, courses I had taken in environmental management and water quality, and also asked me to describe a time I dealt with a compliance issue even in an academic context. Environmental regs came up specifically around the federal fisheries act and provincial water quality standards

Screening call then team interview on Teams. Heavy behavioral and extracurriculars, no process questions. Three weeks of silence then rejection.
