Business AnalystInterview Experiences

Screening call last week and then the interview with a team lead yesterday, he asked about SQL and if I've used Jira before and also a bunch of STAR questions about managing projects and working with people who disagree with you

30 minute Zoom with an HR manager, 3 or 4 behavioral questions. Tell me about yourself, a time you wokred on something you weren't an expert in, how you handle competing priorities. No technical content at all. Took over a month to hear back after the interview

Know the basics of group benefits products before going in. Teams call was with two people from the group benefits team. Behavioral questions about working with large datasets and a scenario where I had to explain how I'd automate a monthly reporting process. They also asked about my SQL background and comfort with tableau. The insurance context came up a lot

All behavioral on hirevue, conflict on a team and time you used data and why do u want to work at Capital One, 30 second prep is brutal and kept re-recording and by the third try just submitted whatever

Scenario based questions about handling a customer escalation and prioritizing when everything feels urgent. Nothing finance specific despite it being a business role. Personality and team fit were clearly the focus. They also wanted to know how previous experience maps to this role

Excel assessment with a data set and like 7 questions then power day with one product interview and two case interviews, cases are quant heavy with P&L stuff and weighted averages. They send sample cases beforehand which are similar to the real ones so practice those

Four rounds felt like a lot, phone screen then behavioral then technical with senior analyst, SQL and gap analysis questions, then final with a VP that was mostly about why Scotiabank and if I understood their values

Typical behavioral, they did ask about a time you failed and what you would do if a member of your team was underperforming. Interviewer did not give clear answer to my question at the end even after asking twice. One of the interviewers appeared disengaged and was clearly very uninterested. Overall a pretty bad experience. In the end the position was canceled

HireVue first then the manager went into some SQL basics which caught me fully off guard and also behavioral about conflicts with coworkers.

This was like 5 rounds, insane for a co-op. Phone screen, behavioral with STAR questions, SQL and data analysis assessment, followed by a GROUP interview with other candidates where we did a case study together. I thought the group part went well but I guess not. Never made it to the final round

Pymetrics then HireVue then interview round. Got too deep in the analysis, didn't pass the case

Pretty simple two HR screenings (one on the phone one on zoom) then a final round with manager who asked semi technical questions about Power BI and Vlookup

Group format with about 6 candidates. Started with introductions and why sports then moved into a mini case about fan engagement ideas. Final stage was a 1 on 1 with a manager about my analytics background. They care a lot about passion for the industry so ya

Recruiter call felt a bit disorganized but the team lead interview was solid. Behavioral questions and resume based stuff. About a week total process from recruiter call to interview with a team lead. Montreal HQ. Three intake windows per year

Meh process , long interview. Very boring overview of the role and was ready to leave at the end of call

Easy, behavioural interview, role was in contract and policy analysis. Good for a first internship.

Two 30 min rounds same day, first was behavioral why banking then second got into interest rates and gave me a mini case study to present, had an hour to prep but was nervous presenting to the panel even though the content was solid

This was a journey. First they sent a written case study that was mostly behavioral questions and I had a full week to complete it. 1 hour virtual interview after that with more behavioral and situational stuff. Then a call from the manager asking personal questions about my location and course load and start date availability

Recruiter screen then a technical assessment not even sure if u can call it technical but thats what they said. Interview was on teams, resume and behavioral focused. They mentioned the Montreal HQ is where most BA interns end up

In person case presentation about operational efficiency in a supply chain context. They seemed interested. Online simulation in the middle rounds was fine

Pre-recorded video first then a call, questions about my favourite and least favourite classes and some technical about web APIs and Java, HackerRank had 2 questions one was array based and the other was about trees

Had to make a 5 slide deck introducing myself and a mini analysis on a topic I cared about. Odd format but the panel appreciated the effort. HR was friendly throughout

Very simple process, only one interview and it was mostly behavioral

Quick pre recorded interview then one round with hiring manager she was very nice and asked about my past co-op and a project I had listed on my resume sadly got declined a day after interview

Single round panel interview with manager and senior analyst on the Feddev team. Basic behavoral questions without any techincal questions.

About two weeks from application to offer. Interviewers were friendly and not intimidating at all. Questions about past experience and motivation for insurance brokerage. No industry knowledge assumed

Did the one way video first with like 9 questions and you get 3 tries to re-record each one then had a 30 min teams call with one of the senior devs who just went into my resume and teamwork scenarios.

Pre-recorded video thing first. Then had an interview that was mostly soft skills, some basic accounting questions and about working under pressure. Not super hard but also not much room to stand out

Just the pre recorded video, never heard back

Video screen then superday with three consecutive groups. Form rejection after

The Hirevue first, video questions about motivation and experience. Then a second round with two managers, mostly behavioral with a compliance focus. talked about my past experience handling ambiguity which ironically was ambigious. Typing test at one point which I hadn't anticipated. Pretty fast

Mini case about analyzing sell through rates and flagging underperforming SKUs. Second round was with a senior analyst and manager. Also asked about Excel and presenting to non finance people.

Phone interview with a passcode, weird format. Behavioral and stakeholder situational questions. Got it!

One interview, 4 questions 2 behavioral. Tell me about yourself, why Loblaws, a time you managed competing deadlines and a mistake you learned from. No technical questions. Offer came in 7 days. Brampton HQ. Very fast and no nonsense process

Process went virtual. Team lead and another person, behavioral the whole way. Conflict resolution, when you had to adapt quickly. Friendly process but I got rejected and the return offer rate for interns there is reportedly low

Asked for a PEI (personal experience interview) story that is expected to be well structured. Also went through a case study

Psychometric assessment first then two virtual rounds. Second round focused on PepsiCo's GREAT5 leadership principles. entirely behavioral, like tell me about showing agility when plans changed. Mississauga based

3 questions about 3 mins each on a Hirevue, had to summarize professional experience in 90 seconds, harder than it sounds lol, then team interview where they kept referencing the Credo so read up on that beforehand

Up against really strong candidates on this one the interviewer literally said. Made it through the screening and case presentation but didn't get the offer. Mine was a real estate valuation for a provincial asset. Panel of 3, they were engaged and had good follow up questions
