Civil Engineer Interview Experiences

Decent amount of technical depth for a co-op role. Interview with an engineering lead covered geotechnical and foundation design and a scenario about erosion mitigation near a pipeline corridor. Also STAR behavioral on handling design changes in the field. HR call before that was quick.

Hadn't prepared on the mining side at all. Video interview with two engineers, situational stuff about remote site conditions and a safety scenario.

Didn't have enough nuclear background for the civil team. Technical interview didn't go well after the HR call

Total get to know you format, no technical questions at all. Phone screen first with personality questions then I met with a panel of three people. Strengths, learning approach, why this group.

virtual assessment, one way video, then in person. Resume walkthrough and a project question. 33 days total i counted lol

Phone interview and a team meeting, very much a get to know you vibe. One or two light technical questions to confirm I'd taken relevant courses. Application review took about 2 weeks before hearing anything

They focused heavily on transportation engineering and pavement design.My structural background didn't transfer lol
